Success Is Like Fuel

"Surround yourself with people who have the confidence and the desire to be the best.  Develop a culture of persistence, and create an environment where people can win.  Victories build momentum... momentum builds confidence.  The more you win... the better it gets.  Success is like fuel!" -Doyle Slayton

Doyle, so very true. It was short, to the point and made the commentary or old saying "that if you lie down with dogs, etc" true. You very often are likely to become like your surroundings. Avoid the people in your company or team that are negative all the time. If you are strong enough to coach them out of it, then try to do so but "the right stuff is the right stuff" and that is what separates the true performer and top dog from the wanna be's. Does that makee sense? If you have it, you have it and try to share it but not to your own detriment.

Victories truly build momentum and are like a volatile fuel. They are also like a string of stacked dominoes. Once you get the first one to fall, all of a sudden everything seems to fall into place thus a rise in self esteem and therefore more victories. I am learning this anew but am glad I remember that lesson from long ago. You have to believe in yourself and in what you are doing. I came out of retirement to sell a product and concept that is hard to sell and has a much longer sales curve (for closing) but I have faith in myself and I am on the cusp of some huge victories. Without this knowledge of capability, I would not have made it. For you younger people out there, that know you are good and what you represent is good, then proceed forward on the faith that I have tried to portray. Keep your eyes on the prize and keep the faith. It works every time!

I have heard the same expression, except with a few variances: success, like emotion, has the potential for a chain reaction depending on who conducts it.

However, I do think that success as well as attitude are amplified if the person conducting it is "dynamic" (someone people love to be around).
