Gratitude

“Gratitude is an attitude where the mind and the heart unite in sincere appreciation.  Throughout life, we experience great victories along with serious challenges.  It is as though the good and the bad are in a constant battle to capture our thinking.  In moments of clarity we remember… In all things be grateful… for as long as we live, we learn.  That is what makes us better!” -Doyle Slayton

An attitude of gratitude effects all that we do and the way that we encounter trials.

Those with a grateful heart end up looking up when they fall, they give in times of crises. They have lower blood pressure and overall better health. They tend to sleep better at night. They are people others want to be around.

Most importantly is that a grateful person realizes that the world is bigger than themselves and that they are here to serve others rather than to be served.

A person with an attitude of gratitude is also a person of higher integrity. One cannot be truly grateful and be selfish in their endeavors.

As we strive to have this attitude, we will see the number of people that we attract grow, and we will see the influence we have on them change their lives in positive directions.

In my business life, this is a core principal, to raise the level of excellence of those I serve and encounter.

    Have a truly “THANKS”giving.

    Hold it a bit…

    Now let it out…

    What are you Gratefull for?

  3. Excellent entry! And very timely for Thanksgiving. With everything in the world that I could use to distract me from my business intentions, when I begin to fear or worry, I interrupt my thinking and say “Thank you.” It doesn’t seem to matter to whom or what I’m saying it, but it takes away the angst and allows me to get back on the path of what I CAN do, and the lives I can change. Happy Thanksgiving.

    Doyle,

Great piece-thank you. Gratitude and the action of being grateful for what is the creative source of all things. Tap into that and the possibilities are endless.

In these uncertain times, it is easy to become disillusioned but by stopping for a moment and realizing my blessings, it makes me so grateful, for little things in life. Thank you for this entry and Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

One of the things I am grateful for is winning Warren Buffett’s OVarian lottery. I am lucky enough to be born into a country, where I’m allowed to pursue my dreams and achieve success.

    Doyle,
Very timely message with Thangiving and all. Thanks!

I grew up learning and believing that in all things I was to give thanks to God for all things good come from Him, and He tells us to not worry about anything but in everything to give thanks. So, in good and in bad, I have learned that being grateful for all the experiences of life is the only way to live.

My wish for everyone is that they feel truly appreciated by their friends, family, managers and coworkers this Thanksgiving and Christmas season. I encourage each person reading this to remember those you come in contact with, even if for a brief moment of passing on the street, and share a smile or a kind word. We all get so busy.

Gratitude is an attitude and it’s a good attitude to have. Thanks for reminding me!

    Lisa
